I have a water leak right now at my home. I was just about to fall asleep and my wife woke me up to tell me about it. This wouldn’t be a big deal, but i have trouble sleeping. I usually end up sleeping late at night. I also need either a book or my nintendo ds to help me sleep. I think that i have sleeping problems because of the stress in my life. I sometimes get jealous about my wife’s ability to fall asleep on a dime. I wish that i could be like that. I started having problems sleeping when i was in college. This problem developed into a normal part of my life by my senior year. My sleeping problem would also get in the way of my work as well. That is why i desperately want to work from home. I want to be able to get enough income from my collection of web site. I do not want to depend on other people for money. I want to be my own man. I was inspired by the plenty of fish article that i read in inc magazine. I really want to be able to work one hour a day and make tens of thousands of dollar a day. I would spend all of my time not worry about anything. Maybe then, i can get a nice night of sleep.

I just came back from the chicago auto show. I was excited to hear that the show was going on over at the convention center. I finished off my work and headed toward the auto show. I told my wife to just get dressed and get the camera. I remember when we were dating in college. She would carry around notebooks with fancy cars in them. I wanted her to remember those times. When we arrived at the convention center, she still wasn’t sure what we were doing there. She just assumed that i was going to take pictures outside. Just outside the convention center here in Chicago, there is an amazing view. She assumed that i wanted to take some pictures of the Chicago city scape. But, i told her that we were going inside. She was delighted and excited at the idea. We walked around and pretended to be rich. We picked out our dream cars and just had a ball. It was nice to get out of the house tonight. It was fun because we were reminded of how cool it was when we were young. Ahhh, to be young again. It is a great feeling.

I have a lot of food in my fridge. I usually eat most of my meals at home. I think that this is a great way to save money. It is also good eating at home because you know that you are eating something healthy. You do not want to put too much junk food into your body. I usually eat something meaty at home. I am not talking about things that are too heavy. But, i need to have some sort of meat as the main or side dish. I cooked myself a nice piece of steak last night. It tasted really good and i didn’t spend a lot of money. If i went to the steak house for that same meal, i would have probably spent close to 30 dollars or more. But, i bought the steak over at costco. I think that i spent about 20 dollars for 6 pieces of steak. That puts the price per steak at around 3 dollars. I ate a nice steak meal for under the price of a fast food combo. You have to love eating at home. It’s a great way to eat really good food at a low price. The only bad part is that you have to prepare the meal yourself. Also, i hate cleaning up after myself.

I do not consider myself to be a good cook. I was blessed with a mother that made delicious meals for me and my family. Also, i ate a lot of junk food in college. I never really needed to cook anything. I also had a lot of females friends in college that would come for me from time to time. I guess that is the reason why i never learned how to cook. But now that i am an adult, i think that i should take a stab at it. I think that with enough practice, i can be a good cook. I want to be able to surprise my wife with a nice home made meal. I want to be able to treat my kids to a nice bowl of something good.
I bought a few books online about cooking. I also downloaded a few recipes from cooking web sites. I asked my mom for a few pointers as well. Today, i am going to prepare a nice beef stew for myself and my wife. I hope that she likes how it tastes. I hope that i enjoy the meal as well. If it doesn’t turn out well this time around, i will not give up. I will keep on cooking at home until i get this thing right.

Homework is something that is a major part of a student’s life. I remember when i was a little kid. I would dread having to do my homework. I hated the fact that i was out of school, but still needed to do school work. Now that i am all grown up, i understand the value of homework. I think that adults should also do homework. I am not talking about bringing work home. I am talking about continuing to educate yourself. I am talking to learning. I think that we should all take pride in the things that we learn.
The world is constantly changing. The change is occurring fast. If you want to take advantage of these rapid changes, you need to stay up to date on the news. I work in web development. This industry is always on it’s toes. If you slack off for even a moment, you might miss out on a major opportunity. I was reading up on a few guys who have made it big with the iphone application. I want to get in on it while it is still in its infancy.
I bought a new mac and bought some books on iphone applications. I want to try out my hands in iphone development. I think that if i can spot out a neat idea, i could make a few dollars off of it. You need to do this type of homework if you want to succeed.

One of my favorite family activities is playing card games. I love playing games like uno and poker with my family. I think that playing these types of games helps the young ones think fast and socialize. It also drives the competitive spirit in all of us. My brother in law came from out of town the other day. We spent a lot of time talking and breaking bread together. One night, we spent about 5 whole hours playing cards.
It was fun because we all wanted to win badly. When winning because important, the games become very intense. I think that this type of mood needs to be in place in order for you to have a good time. If people do not care about winning, the games are not as intense. The games are not as important. If the will to win is not there, the games are meaningless. Imagine a baseball game where the players do not want to win. Imagine how boring that basketball game would be if every player had no desire to win.

Life is a long circling link of disoriented and dislocated events. The film does a great job at showing us, through the use of its compositional space, the disoriented and dislocated life of the main character. The film is deep with meaning and reflection. When i first say my own private idaho, i fell in love with the characters. I felt sorry for them and was routing for them to find their way. I think that the movie is a great example of how messed up society is. I think that the cookie cutter image of how life should be is wrong. I think that we need to carve out our own idea of reality. Life doesn’t have to be conventional and safe. We should learn to come out of our shell and be a little more open about life.
The scary part about life is always going to be there. Not knowing the near future is something that we all struggle with. We should find comfort and beauty in the variety of life. We should take solace in knowing that life is full of surprises.

Another scene that proves he has fallen in love with her is when Ana holds his heart in her hands as they dance. The syuzhet inserts fantasy sequences between the reality to show that the film is about love, poetry, and fantasy. Also this parallel structure between reality and fantasy dislocates the audiences perception of time. There are no cues about time, time is not important. What is important is Oli’s quest for love.
Oli’s immaturity is emphasized when he is next to Lady Death. She has a steady job and seems responsible about her actions. Oli is a poet and must earn money buy selling his poetry. He only makes money when he has to whether it is for rent or a prostitute. Money is of no importance to him. What is important is for him to find a woman who can fly. Oli’s fantasy life and reality go around and around like a circle, making the temporal structure circular as well. The frequency of Oli playing with his train shows not only his childlike immaturity, but also his quest for love. He seems to not be going anywhere with the woman he meets.

Growing up I always loved movies and I loved how it can inspire and delight the mind and heart. I thought it was all about movie starts and famous people. I didn’t realize the business aspect of it until this course and Roger Birnbaum’s guest lecture.
One of the many topics of discussion during Roger’s visit was the topic of file sharing. He spoke of internet file sharing sites that allow internet users to download off of other users any type of file. I can be mp3, pictures, or movies. The latter was what Roger spoke about. He said that it is unfortunate that this is happening and that it does to a certain degree bring down profits and put a monkey wrench into the operations of the movie business. Bootlegging can ruin movie viewing experiences because most of the files available for download are of poor quality. It is usually something that equals a home video because sometimes it is an actual recording from a movie theatre with a digital camera. Such poor quality doesn’t cause any alarm as far as competition but it does ruin distribution methods and certain protocols of distribution.

Brooks writes about the workings of good and evil and showing that they do exist in the real world. Good being virtue and innocence, and evil being all the obstacles that stand in the way. But the melodrama’s messages lies in a kind of sign language. This is what he means by the text of muteness. Sign language uses no words but gestures to show the struggle toward the acknowledgment of the sign of virtue and innocence. In melodrama virtue and innocence is introduced to obstacles. Evil is present throughout the majority of melodrama and virtue then must overcome evil.
Marmantel’s article “Pantomime” says the following, “It is especially for the most impassioned movements of the soul that pantomime is necessary.” Brooks felt that gesture was the language of nature so therefore Pantomime would be the use of the natural language for artistic purposes. The text of muteness is a way of conveying a message and emotion without the use of words. Gledhill feels that melodrama was affected by the prohibition on spoken dialogue. An example would be the creation of the spectacle which provided sophisticated productions with exotic costumes and sets, and special effects which can be seen in all of the melodramas we see today in film. She focuses on the stylistic excess and structural instability of melodrama. Her work has been very helpful in identifying muteness as constitutive fundamentals of the melodramatic text. However unlike Brooks, Gledhill focuses more on Hollywood films that regards melodrama as a invention molded by national and cultural forces.
